Lou Rawls

Lou RawlsEven though Lou Rawls had the huge hit "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" some say its Disco while others say it's not. I kind of think it is Disco. The reason why I"m writng this note is to inform you about his real Disco tune, "See You When I Get There" from the album "Unmistakably Lou."

This is out on CD, but it's very hard to come by and expensive. There's also another CD that has it called "Lou Rawls Classics." Also out of print and hard to find, but if you want to look for it here's the info "Lou Rawls Classics" #ZK 39285 on the Philadelphia International label distributed by CBS Records.

That is one of the major problems us experts have in deciding what is disco or what is not. Technically the song You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine is soul with a dance beat. It does sound a lot like disco, and was played in disco clubs. In fact, the song reached #4 on the Disco Chart in 1976. Regardless of whether it is disco or soul, it is still a good song.
