Electric Light Orchestra

Electric Light OrchestraNow here's one that totally works... Jeff Lynne from Electric Light Orchestra (E.L.O.) was no dummy. He said this Disco stuff is cool with strings, guitars and keyboards. Hey I can do this, and he did... and very well i may add.

Listen to "Shine A Little Love." The chorus with the handclaps and funky disco bass line and the strings. Ahh this really takes me back!

The other song on the same CD is "Last Train To London." Listen to the Clavinet (Funky Keyboard used by every keyboard player in the 70's especially for Disco songs) and listen to the bass with the octave thing goin on. Both of these songs are on the "Discovery" CD. Check it out... And the year 1979.

YOUR COMMENTS ON Electric Light Orchestra

"Evil Woman" could probably be considered a Disco song...

Here is a prime example of disco-like rock. Many of ELO's songs are rock/disco hybrids, and unless one was an expert on disco, one could take a lot of ELO music for disco. Good music.

One of my favorite not-exactly-disco bands of the '70s. Excellent tracks throughout, beautiful orchestrations, great music.
