YOUR COMMENTS ON Frank Zappa

Disco?
Jazz-rock I think.
Superb musicianship all the same.

"Dancin' Fool" was the main "disco" track on "Sheik Yerbouti." Listening to it, I'm not sure which it was ridiculing more, disco posers or disco itself (probably both):
"The disco folks all dressed up,
Like they's fit to kill
I walk on in and see'em there
Gonna give them all a thrill
When they see me comin'
They all steps aside
They has a fit while I commit
My social suicide--
I'm a--
Dancin' Fool..."

Either way, I hear the song was nominated for a Grammy.

On Zappa's 1976 album, "Zoot Allures," there was another track called "Disco Boy." This is not disco at all, but rock that makes Zappa's attitude pretty clear:
"Disco Girl, you're outta sight
You need a disco boy to treat you right
He'll do a little dance, take you home tonight
Leave his hair alone, but you can kiss his comb..."

As the poster above says, the musicianship is superb...
