YOUR COMMENTS ON Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth is who i heard "The Mexican" for the first time. To me it's still the best version of the song.

"The Mexican" was one of the original B-Boy anthems in the Bronx before hip-hop had a name. It caught fire basically because of the instrumental break, which was a rarity at the time.

Original Brooklyn Uprockers were dancing to "The Mexican" in long before the birth "Bboying" [Breakdance]. It is one of the great Rockers / Freestylers anthems.

At the end of 1975 they also charted on Billboard's Disco charts with "Elusive" taken from the "Stealin' home" Album, this cut was also listed on the Disc-o-la fortune 500 Discotheques songs of the 70's at # 472.
