YOUR COMMENTS ON Blondie

Wicked awesome band; saw some success in the 80s too.

They echoed Abba's career path, but harder and louder. Their punkier stuff still rings true; the disco stuff was a little more pedestrian, but very accessible. But gawd, the rapping in "Rapture" is truly terrible.

Personally, I feel that Debbie Harry's solo tracks were a better effort.

"Feel the Spin" and "In Love With Love" were both very popular Hi-NRG tracks.

Rock meets Disco on some of their hits. Yes, the rapping was gawd-awful on "Rapture" but at the time it sounded kind of fresh...I think it was also done a bit tounge-in-cheek. Blondie never took themselves too seriously.

AND what about Deborah Harry's "Feel the spin"!!!!!

How could a serious page like this could miss this song

That's REAL 80s DISCO, absolutely Genuine ( AND FABULOUS!!!)

Rapture was a big hit for Blondie!

The 12" version......

It's a classic!

the longer version of call me on the american gigolo stk. is cool there is also a 12" ver. of heart of glass which doesn't seem much longer than the album ver. still blondie rules!

No one was more surprised by BLONDIE'S HEART OF GLASS then I was. They definitely were not DISCO, but have a song that helped put DISCO in the mainstream!! Then they didn't stop. CALL ME was huge! A true UNLIKELY ARTIST.
